Award winning porcelain in Dehua

Located in Fujian province, Dehua County, is the birthplace of China’s ceramic culture and one of the top l0 manufacturing centers in China. CeramEx 2007 is proud to annouce that the trade fair will feature a group of manufacturers from the Dehua region.

As early as the neolith period, pottery and porcelian were manufactured in Dehua and the region’s prominense as a major source of fine ceramics began to take shape in the late Tang Dynasty. Dehua porcelain and pottery were sold overseas throughout the Song and Yuan Dynasties and they became one of the major exported commodities through the famously traveled Marine Silk Road.

Professional ceramic buyers at the trade fair will know that Dehua porcelain is famous for its very special features: “it is white as snow, shining as glass, thin as paper and sounds like musical stone". In recent years, many new types of porcelain have been invented, such as Jade Whiteware, Topaz Yellowware, Eggshell Porcelain, Bone China, Light Porcelain, Heat-Resisting Porcelain, Red Pottery, Ecology Porcelain and Nanometer Porcelain, which are very appealing to world markets.

There are several major brands namely, Guanfu, Jiamei, Shunmei, Hiap Huat Koyo Toki, Longpeng and Desheng. In fact, more than 180 different products from Dehau have won prizes locally and abroad.
